Chess For Every Mind is a program in which high school volunteers work with special education programs in school to deliver personalized chess training to students with learning disabilities. We provide guidance, support, and a mission to help high school chess players give back to their community.
Research has shown chess to be extremely beneficial to students with learning disabilities, in the form of increasing a student’s math, logic, and reasoning based skills, as well as increasing patience, concentration, and self-confidence. It is a fun game that we have found the kids enjoy a lot while also providing a lot of benefits.
Our mission is to have chess lovers be able to share the love with special needs students who never had such opportunities.
We are siblings out of Saratoga, California; who fell in love with chess back in elementary school. We led our chess team to many regional and state competitions in Indiana and are now continuing pursuing chess through giving back to our community.
